My approach to psychotherapy is developmental and highly integrated—I draw from contemporary psychoanalytic, family systems, interpersonal neurobiology, rational choice, and infant and adult attachment theories. I’ve had diverse training, including by major contributors to integrative thought like Diana Fosha and Stan Tatkin. I pay close attention to what’s in front of me and think creatively. I’m enamoured of the art and science of psychotherapy, am committed to research and, like you, am constantly evolving.
I have a real appreciation for humour, dark thoughts, the absurd, and for telling the truth plainly. I take what happens for you seriously. I’m active and responsive in session, so you can know the real me. I won’t work with someone I don’t have a real affection for because I know I’d be rendered ineffective. I find this affection comes naturally whenever one pays really close attention. I know that a strong relationship—one that’s real and that we can push on—is essential to the work we will do in bringing dormant and burgeoning parts of ourselves to life.
I mean it—it is an honour and a privilege to accompany and witness people who are becoming more themselves.
